Swift took inspiration from artists in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks as well as the Chicks in order to write original music that expressed the apathy she experienced by 13 years old. Swift's family relocated into Tennessee from Pennsylvania when she was thirteen so she would have more time exploring popular country music labels in Nashville.
